It's mad weird how Simon dies too. It's like everyone who ganged up on him was possessed. _________________ ~An apple a day keeps ANYONE away, if you throw it hard enough!! :3 ~

I remember reading this book in school. We also watched the older movie. The funny part for me was, I had actually seen the anime Infinite Ryvius before reading Lord of the Flies, so I noticed how similar they were right off. Then I looked on the internet to find out Ryvius was a science-fiction/mecha "anime remake/reimagining" of the LotF book. Sunrise was trying an anime line of re-imaginings of literary classics, like how Argento Soma was a new take on Frankenstein.
We rushed through the book during school because we were pressed for time, but I still enjoyed it. |

I hope when you were given the test for it you didn't write about mechas. That would've been awkward. XD _________________ ~An apple a day keeps ANYONE away, if you throw it hard enough!! :3 ~

By the way, guys. If you're interested in a LOTF-type story that includes weapons ranging from a spoon to fully-automatic submachine guns, check out the highly controversial Japanese pulp fiction novel Battle Royale. There is a very good translated English version of it in the USA. I think it can be found off Amazon.
There is also a movie and manga made from it, but the novel itself is the best, since it has the most inside information on the characters. Warning you, though...it has excessive violence that would make a person vomit, and a lot of inappropriate content. I hope you're mature enough. _________________ ~An apple a day keeps ANYONE away, if you throw it hard enough!! :3 ~

I went through a big Battle Royale phase awhile back. I read the novel, watched the live action movie, and then started reading the manga. I didn't finish the manga because it was almost too much for me (as far as disturbing images are concerned), but it seemed like a pretty good adaptation of the novel - only even more extreme (who would have thought that was possible even. Haha).
The movie was good for what it was. It is a fun movie to watch with friends at least (though it gets weird when your friends start laughing at parts I thought were sad or disturbing - but people react differently so...).
In other words, my favorite was the novel. _________________

The live action movie seems tame compared to the manga... I've seen the manga adaptations at Borders'; they're all sealed tightly in plastic with a big red warning label on the front. I've read several volumes of it. It's um.... yeah......
The novel was the best, yeah. _________________ ~An apple a day keeps ANYONE away, if you throw it hard enough!! :3 ~
